Angela studied at Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, where she earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. There, she was trained in acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and various bodywork modalities. Angela is a Nationally Board Certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl.O.M.) from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a licensed acupuncturist in both North and South Carolina.
Having always been interested in medicine and health, she studied at a community college in Madison, WI to become a pharmacy technician. After working for a year in that field, she realized there had to be a more natural approach to healthcare, and decided to further her education in the field of yoga. In 2006, she completed her 200 hr. certification at Scott Anderson Alignment Yoga in Madison and soon after, decided to move to warmer weather.
Her first summer in Tucson seemed to shift the balance in her body, and she began to suffer from severe insomnia. After trying countless herbs, natural remedies, OTC medications, and even prescription medication with no results, she turned to the local acupuncture school for relief. That night after her first treatment, she slept better than she had in years! She was hooked and intrigued. It was then that she made the decision to embark on the amazing journey to become an acupuncturist.
Acupuncture has taught Angela the importance of prevention, and leading a healthy lifestyle. She has learned and implemented in her own life a healthy way of eating, moving, and stress avoidance. She looks forward to teaching her patients how to do the same to improve their quality of life.
Angela enjoys everything in nature, and spends as much time outdoors as possible. In observing the natural rhythm and balance of things, she also deepens her understanding of the natural rhythm and balance in the human body.
